Volunteer?
If you are only interested in assisting Ratio Christi in a support role volunteer capacity, please submit our Volunteer Application instead of the one below.
However, if you are applying as a volunteer Chapter Director (or assistant director), you should use the main application below.
Address and other information was already provided in the Phase A (background check) portion of the application.
Ratio Christi may request some or all institutions to send an official transcript of academic work to Ratio Christi. Individuals who have not yet completed an undergraduate degree might also have to include their high school or GED transcript. After submitting your initial application we will notify you which institutions (if any) we need to obtain transcripts from. The applicant will then request each institution to send official transcript directly to Ratio Christi staff. If transcripts are sent to you, submit an official unopened copy to Ratio Christi. Use the transcript request form provided by each institution from which you need to obtain records.
Mail transcripts to: Ratio Christi, Attn: HR, 2150 Elmwood Avenue STE 2, Lafayette, IN 47904
Or Scan and Email to: alicia@ratiochristi.org
List your highest earned academic degree (and/or professional license), so we may contact them to verify your education.
Please list your previous employers within the past 5 years, so we may contact them for employment verification.
Thank you for your service to our country!
The following is Ratio Christi's policy regarding moral convictions:
As a ministry we must evaluate the moral character of applicants in light of the biblical standards of sexual purity. Any breach of these standards may affect the timing of one's acceptance for the ministry, and their future work in the ministry.
The Bible makes it clear that we should avoid sexual immorality (I Thess. 4:3-6). Being “above reproach” and “having a good reputation” are two of the qualifications for spiritual leadership listed in 1 Tim. 3. In light of this, Ratio Christi is highly concerned about the area of moral purity for our missionary/apologists. Ratio Christi is committed to creating an environment where each of our missionary/apologist is walking in sexual purity. It is critical for each contractor to exhibit strong convictions and a lifestyle consistent with biblical standards.
A past problem in this area does not necessarily disqualify you, provided: 1) it can be determined that convictions are strong and consistent with Scripture, and 2) a sufficient “time-tested” track record of freedom has been established. The information that you share with us will be treated confidentially and will be seen only by an individual directly involved with your application process. Though sexually moral behavior is of critical importance, God is most interested in renewing and changing our hearts. Thus, it is important for us to consider the issue of grace and the issues of the heart. These questions reflect this concern.
NOTE: Because of the sensitive nature of these questions, you may prefer to discuss your answers on the phone with someone of the same sex. If so, please indicate your desire for a phone interview. Otherwise, complete each question thoroughly.
I, , have been made aware and understand that Ratio Christi may require drug testing as part of the pre-employment process and/or randomly during my engagement with Ratio Christi as a contractor.
I do hereby voluntarily consent to the sampling and submission for testing of my urine for the purposes of screening for the presence of illegal drugs as required by Ratio Christi at such time as they deem appropriate.
I also understand that refusal on my part to comply with such request and to supply the necessary samples in a reasonable and timely manner or producing a confirmed positive test result for the presence of illegal drugs may result in failure to execute my contract or my existing contract with Ratio Christi to be terminated immediately.
I authorize disclosure of the drug test results by and between the testing laboratory and Ratio Christi. I understand that the results of the urinalysis will be available to me as soon as possible after receipt by the Ratio Christi.
This is a legally binding agreement that I have read and understand and I sign this consent form as my own free act.

Statements of Compliance with State and Federal Requirements
I acknowledge that in accordance with IRS rules, all money raised by the Ratio Christi staff and contractors will be the property of Ratio Christi. All money will be expended according to the guidelines established by Ratio Christi. Should there be a change of status in the relationship between Ratio Christi and a worker/contractor; the worker/contractor may make no claim to the money raised for Ratio Christi, nor may the donors request a refund.
I acknowledge that CHECKS SHOULD BE MADE PAYABLE TO RATIO CHRISTI. MINISTRY PARTNERS ARE GIVING TO RATIO CHRISTI, NOT TO AN INDIVIDUAL APOLOGIST/MISSIONARY/CHAPTER. If a ministry partner inadvertently makes a check payable to the apologist/missionary the apologist/missionary should sign the back of the check and write the following language under his/her signature--PAY TO RATIO CHRISTI / DEPOSIT ONLY. Then forward the check to Ratio Christi with paperwork designating the check to the proper support account. Ratio Christi will send a receipt for the donation to the ministry partner.
I acknowledge that Ratio Christi is classified by the IRS as a 501c3 non-profit organization and because of that there are many regulations that govern what we can do, and what we cannot do. Some of them relate to how we handle gifts from our ministry partners. Under their rules, all contributions given to the ministry must be given without expectation of a refund. In order for charitable gifts to be tax-deductible for our ministry partners, those gifts must be unconditional and cannot be given exclusively for the use of an apologist/missionary/chapter. This means that the ministry must exercise full control over the use of the money. As a result, this also means that we are not able to refund donations after they have been receipted, unless there is clear evidence of an error. This policy is not unique to our ministry, for all other 501c3 non-profit organizations are required to comply with these regulations.
I acknowledge that it is imperative that all workers/contractors abide by all federal, state and local laws pertaining to fundraising and the payment of taxes.
I acknowledge that the term "Chapter Account" is an accounting term which means a specific number (in a chart of accounts) to monitor the funds an apologist/worker/contractor raises for Ratio Christi and Ratio Christi’s expenses for operations and expenses for a chapter/club. All contributions, whether they are personal property, real property or cash, shall be the sole property of Ratio Christi. Ratio Christi maintains ownership of all funds.
I acknowledge that Ratio Christi worker/apologists are volunteers according to IRS regulations and are in no way considered employees of Ratio Christi, and that as volunteers they will have to abide by all applicable laws and regulations.
I hereby state that I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THE FOREGOING INFORMATION AND UNDERSTAND THE CONTENTS THEREOF AND AGREE TO THE TERMS IN #’S 1 THROUGH 5 ABOVE AS MY OWN FREE ACT. This is a legally binding agreement that I have read and understand.

All contributions, whether they are personal property, real property or cash, shall be the sole property of Ratio Christi. Ratio Christi maintains ownership of all funds. No funds are actually set-aside in any support account. All funds are used within the general fund of Ratio Christi. All expense and contribution reports that apologist/missionaries receive are support account entries to show them how their fundraising compares to Ratio Christi’s expense for their contracted services.
I acknowledge that Ratio Christi missionary/apologists are contractors according to IRS regulations and are in no way considered employees of Ratio Christi, and that as contractors they will have to abide by all applicable laws and regulations.
I acknowledge that each contractor will be responsible for his/her own taxes in accordance with IRS, state and local rules. At the request of the contractor, Ratio Christi will place a percentage of the semimonthly draws into a special (liability) account to be held for paying taxes and tax deposits. These funds will be released to the contractor on a quarterly schedule determined by Ratio Christi. Ratio Christi will try to help provide forms for use by the contractor and instructions for general IRS compliance, but Ratio Christi is in no way responsible for these items and compliance.

Are you married?
If yes, please fill out the following Marriage Questionnaire. If no, you may skip this section.
You only need to fill out this questionnaire if you answered "Yes" to ever having been divorced, separated, or had an annulment. If not, you may skip this section.
On your application you indicated that you have at some point had a divorce or an annulment of marriage. A divorce in one’s past does not necessarily disqualify him/her from participating with Ratio Christi. Please understand that Ratio Christi is grace based ministry. There are other Ratio Christi leaders who have experienced divorce. However, in light of the Bible’s qualifications for leadership and injunctions on divorce, we must take into consideration the effect that divorce might have on a missionary/apologist.
Before we can proceed with a decision regarding your application, we must receive additional information from you. We recognize the confidential nature of this information; therefore, we will only allow access to those persons directly involved in a decision.
NOTE: Because of the sensitive nature of these questions, you may prefer to discuss your answers over the phone. If this is your desire please complete only the first question to indicate your preference below.
Ratio Christi considers a husband and wife to be a team. Committing to be in Ratio Christi campus and/or community ministry will involve significant commitment and lifestyle alterations that will affect the entire family of a Ratio Christi missionary/apologist. We also acknowledge that a person’s first ministry is to their spouse and family. To make such a decision it is imperative that there is unity between the spouses and that both believe that this is a wise decision and in line with the Lord’s direction in their lives. Therefore, spouses must be in agreement as to their involvement as an apologist/missionary team in the Ratio Christi ministry.
Please have your spouse see the spousal consent form at this link (http://ratiochristi.org/partners/employment/application/spousal-consent-383-20), sign, and submit.
